Senior SAS Systems Analyst,  Southfield MI (Metro Detroit area)

Position Reports to: Manager, Data Warehouse Department: IT

Purpose/Summary:

Under the general direction of the Manager of Data Warehouse, the Senior SAS Systems Analyst will serve as a

key member focused on supporting SAS Business Intelligence tools and analytic capabilities. The candidate will

primarily be responsible for maintaining effective integration of the SAS platform with the Data Warehouse

environment, and also performing other DW development work as needed.

General Duties/Essential Functions:

 Administer SAS BI in a shared environment - Installation, maintenance, upgrade, and technical support

 Establish standards and best practices for managing and using the SAS BI with the Data Warehouse

environment

 Manage and track SAS products inventory

 Conduct performance tuning, capacity management, and documentation of processes

 Contribute to SAS/DW architecture and capacity planning activities

 Work with IT and business users to enhance the effectiveness of the Data Warehouse and the Analytical

functions

Background Requirements:

 Minimum of 10 years of IT experience – including SAS and Data Warehouse

 3+ years of experience in SAS BI administration

 Strong knowledge of SAS BI security, SAS Metadata, and Management Console

 Strong knowledge of base SAS v9

 Expertise in RDBMS – including usage and data modeling. Experience in relational (3NF) as well as and

dimensional design concepts. Experience in Oracle-11g preferred.

 Experience in DW specific disciplines such as Data Quality, Data Governance, Metadata usage and

management, and Master data management.

 Bachelors Degree preferred

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Marketing or Statistics and 3 years marketing experience.  MBA or progress toward MBA preferred.  Knowledge of database marketing, analysis, segmentation and response modeling.  Strong written and verbal communication skills.  High level of organization and attention to detail.  Computer skills should include at least two years experience in statistical software such as SAS or SPSS and relational database systems.
